Quincy Henderson to play in the Outback

Coach Moore here with some exciting news on former Warrior great Quincy Henderson. Quincy informed me on Wednesday night that he has accepted a deal to play basketball in Australia with the Kilsyth Cobras of the SEABL League. Quincy will be leaving for Australia at the beginning of February and is really looking forward to playing the game of basketball again.
Quincy who had been playing pick up ball since he ended his career as a two-time National Champion, said he really has missed playing competitive basketball and this gives him an opportunity to do so again. On top of playing he is also looking forward to seeing a different part of the world that he might not have seen otherwise. He stated it will be tough leaving his family and friends behind him for sometime but this was a once in a lifetime opportunity and he hopes to make the best of it. Quincy went on to say that he has started to the process of getting back into basketball shape but it will take sometime. While he had never stopped working out he mostly did lifting and playing pick up ball to stay in shape, now he will need to once again get back into that great basketball shape that will be needed to play at this new level. Quincy went on to say this opportunity came up due to his former teammate Zach Malvik helping him get in contact with the Cobras. Zach who will not be back with the Cobras is looking for an overseas job as well but needs more time to recover from his ankle injury.
Everyone will be able to follow Quincy on our blog as we will post the Kilsyth website on our links area.. The Warriors wish Quincy the best of luck on his up coming season and we are very proud to have him represent our team on the next level. Good Luck Q!!
I also have an update on a couple of other alumni to our Warrior program. John Smith recently had an MRI done on his left quad and he has a tear in the muscle that will keep him out of basketball for 6 to 8 weeks. Due to this injury John is currently back in Winona to continue to workout as much as possible. This is a very unfortunate injury as John had been doing very well in workouts for the Iowa Energy. Once he is healthy their is an opportunity for him to play again for the Energy or to be picked up by another team or league. Also the Warriors would like to congratulate Brent Reise on his graduation from Winona State. Brent is still currently living in Winona while looking for jobs in the business world. We wish Brent the best of luck in the future!!

That is all for now. Go Warriors!!
